Most often, entrepreneurial ventures begin in a flash of inspiration. A craftsman, artist, or dreamer with a talent or innovative idea responds and begins the journey. The business details come first: what is our product/service? How will we deliver value? And, how will we price our product to cover our costs and make a profit? Next, a sophisticated entrepreneur may even develop a comprehensive business plan, complete with financial statements. Finally, a commitment to proceed is made—no turning back. It is a challenging yet compelling adventure; I have been there.
